Autism

Anouk Eman, 2024 Miss Universe Aruba interest in autism began at age 6, observing their cousin's experiences. Early school experiences highlighted stigma and discrimination against neurodivergent individuals. Anouk Eman chose to major in early intervention for autism and sensory impairments. 1 in 100 children globally is diagnosed with autism, emphasizing the need for proper care and community support. Inclusive and accessible environments are crucial for neurodivergent children's participation in activities. Ms. Eman contributed to establishing the Department for Children and Youth in Aruba, focusing on children's rights and development. She advocates for accessible care, support, and specialized education for children with specific needs. Anouk encourages community involvement to create inclusive social activities for all children and families. Aims to enhance education quality for neurodivergent children and celebrates their unique qualities (Miss Universe ID Fanbase, 2024e).

Bullying

Francesca Ruzde, 2024 Miss Universe Albania, addresses the issue of bullying. She emphasizes the emotional impact of bullying, which affects millions and can lead to severe mental health issues. Ruzde aims to empower individuals to stand up against bullying and create safe environments. She has launched the WeSpeakUp community on Instagram to raise awareness and provide resources. Key statistics: 1 in 5 students report being bullied; victims are significantly more likely to consider suicide. Goals of WeSpeakUp include educating about bullying's impact, supporting victims, promoting kindness and respect. Call to action: Speak out against bullying, report incidents, participate in local workshops and events (Miss Universe ID Fanbase, 2024c).


Education/Social Equality

Swelia Da Silva Antonio, 2022 Miss Universe Angola platform as a pageant contestant/titleholder focuses on education and social equality. She emphasizes the importance of knowledge, both academic and emotional, and believes in the need for inclusivity and empowerment, particularly for women. She advocates for breaking misconceptions about beauty pageants and highlights the significance of applying knowledge and skills to navigate life effectively (Malik Isani, Pageant And Innovation, 2022).


Inclusivity

Magali Benejam, 2024 Miss Universe Argentina, discusses the impact of beauty standards and body shaming on mental health. She highlights the toll these issues take on individuals, including herself, and their connection to anxiety, depression, and suicide. Magali announces her social project, "We Are All Models," aimed at advocating for a law in Argentina requiring modeling agencies to include at least 10% inclusive models. The project seeks to reflect the diversity of women in the beauty industry and align with UN Sustainable Development Goal 3, promoting well-being for all. Ms. Benejam plans to collaborate with lawmakers to formalize this initiative for a more inclusive and supportive environment (Miss Universe ID Fanbase, 2024b).


Love

Vinisan Emma, 2024 Miss Universe Armenia and director of M3 Modeling Agency, emphasizes the motto "no excuses, keep moving forward." She has transitioned from a simple girl to a successful entrepreneur in finance, fashion, sports, singing, and teaching. Emma aims to guide confused youth in finding their paths and believes that uniting to support them can reduce crime and improve health. She asserts that the younger generation is key to solving humanity's problems. Inspired by figures like Michael Jackson and Lady Diana, she advocates for love as a means to save the world (Miss Universe ID Fanbase, 2024f).


Motherhood


Shireen Ahmed, 2024 Miss Universe Bahrain, is an advocate for single mothers and mental health awareness. She is actively involved with Hope MLUAE, a platform that provides essential needs to single mothers and families in need. Additionally, she has started her own initiative, Hope Amal Bahrain, to support single mothers in her home country, inspired by the work of Hope MLUAE. Through her platform, she aims to raise awareness and make a difference in the lives of single mothers, as well as, their families (Lovin Dubai, 2024).

Women's Health

Zoe Creed, 2024 Miss Universe Australia, advocates for women's health and aims to destigmatize the industry. She highlights her journey from struggling with menstrual health to founding a women's health platform. Her platform aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goal 3: good health and well-being. Ms. Creed notes the common dismissive attitudes towards women's pain, emphasizing that 5-10% of women suffer from endometriosis. Zoe discusses recent funding initiatives in Australia for women's health, including a $1 billion allocation and a $2.96 million education program. Zoe proposes four pillars to close the gender pain gap: (a) Accessible health resources for all women. (b) Quality education on reproductive health in schools. (c) Community awareness and support. (d) Self-empowerment through education. Zoe Creed aims to break down stigma and empower women, promoting a collective approach to health (Miss Universe ID Fanbase, 2024a).

 

Selvinique Wright, 2024 Miss Universe Bahamas personal experience with fibroids led to the creation of the foundation "Women's Health, Us First." The foundation aims to raise awareness about uterine fibroids, affecting many women, especially of African descent. Focuses on three key elements: education, empowerment, and accessibility. (a) Education: Using platforms like Miss Universe and social media to share knowledge and start conversations about fibroids. (b) Empowerment: Hosting health and wellness events to help women take charge of their health. (c) Accessibility: Partnering with healthcare professionals to provide essential health services in underserved communities. Miss Wright advocates for more research into fibroids and improved treatment options. Selvinique encourages women to prioritize their health and take control of their futures (Miss Universe ID Fanbase, 2024d).
